You’re the Constant
BY: TONY RONCHI
Every soundbite and talking point you can come across as an affiliate owner and CrossFitter proclaims how incredibly effective the methodology is.
Yet there is an absolute drought of success stories among affiliate owners themselves. They help their clients improve their lives; meanwhile, they remain stuck. They are healthy, yet unhappy. They are proud, yet poor. They are fulfilled, yet hungry.
If what we do is so helpful, why do we live in a paradox?
Every guru, advisor, and help-peddler you come across will espouse their magic potions. Their secret serums for success — yet they leave a wake of destruction behind them. There is more help than ever in the affiliate landscape, yet, I will argue, less success than ever. More answers, yet less action. More best practices, less belief. More services, fewer solutions.
So what’s the problem?
Zoom out far enough from the trenches and a pattern emerges — one that many will not want to see. There is a constant in all the chaos, and it’s a single person: The affiliate owner.
Simply put: Everyone is trying to change the things an affiliate owner does or has available to them. But no one is trying to change the root: The affiliate owner.
This is akin to believing that to make the world healthy we need to change grocery stores and the health care system. No — we need to change the way people interface with those situations.
You do this every day with your clients. Yet you don’t apply this solution to your own problems.
Like your clients, you download the newest “10-minute abs” program, grocery shop for this week’s diet trend, order the newest iteration of last night’s infomercial — and hope it’ll save your business like they hope it’ll save their health.
But you know the truth.
Your clients can change everything in the world around them, but until they change themselves in the world, nothing will change.
Why would you be any different?
